Drug Combinations for Carrolltown Back Pain and Sciatica Not Effective

How great it would be to take a pill – or maybe better: a combination of pills! - and have your Carrolltown back pain or neck pain vanish immediately? You are not alone! Gormish Chiropractic & Rehabilitation can understand. Pain disrupts our flow. Back pain keeps many Carrolltown back pain sufferers from working and from playing and from doing activities of daily living that must be done (dressing, cooking, walking, doing laundry, etc.). When back pain bothers you or a loved one or friend, come to Gormish Chiropractic & Rehabilitation for relief and chiropractic advice regarding how to manage it without drugs when or if drugs are not working or are not in your treatment plan.

NOT CLEARLY SUPPORTED: DRUG COMBINATIONS

Incorporating drugs in the treatment plan may be successful for some back pain sufferers and not others. Pills may give relief for a few hours, days, weeks, months or not at all. A recent Cochrane Review, one of the most highly respected medical review systems in the world, reported that a drug combination, though possibly better for more pain relief, for low back pain and sciatica is not supported. There is no clear evidence, as a matter of fact there is a lack of studies and overall low quality of evidence, that supports combining drugs for low back pain and sciatica. Additionally, the risk of adverse effects is lower with single drug therapy over combined. (1) Have you experienced a let-down from prescribed medications for your back pain? It’s ok. Gormish Chiropractic & Rehabilitation cares for back pain sufferers like you.

RECOMMENDED: SPINAL MANIPULATION

Gormish Chiropractic & Rehabilitation’s use of the Cox® Technic System of Spinal Pain Management which incorporates a specific type of spinal manipulation has helped countless Carrolltown back pain sufferers get back pain relief. Spinal manipulation is advocated as first line treatment of back pain by the American College of Physicians and the American Board of Family Physicians. (2) Cox® Technic has been shown in federally funded spinal research projects to reduce intradiscal pressures, widen the intervertebral canal area, and improve disc height. (3,4) In clinical studies, Cox® Technic has shown that back pain relief happens in 29 days and 12 visits. Of course, more severe disc herniations and spinal stenosis may take more time than these averages, but relief comes. (5) For many back pain sufferers, 50% relief would be most welcome. How about you?

RESEARCH SUPPORTED: CHONDROITIN SULFATE, TURMERIC AND CURCUMIN

To heighten the relief and help our Carrolltown back pain patients, Gormish Chiropractic & Rehabilitation incorporated supplements into the Carrolltown chiropractic treatment plan. Natural substances like spinal disc-supporting chondroitin sulfate – shown to have “genuine anti-inflammatory properties (6) - and back pain-relieving turmeric and curcumin are helpful in the short-term as well as long term. Gormish Chiropractic & Rehabilitation is prepared to help you find the right combination of treatment approaches to reduce your back pain.
